Ready Home for Mom's Return

On March 4, 2014, I received a call that has changed my life forever in many ways. But, mostly it has changed my mom. My mother, 69 and only 4'11", was hit by an F250 truck as she crossed the street from work to a nearby bus stop. I will never forget that call. It has been over 3 months now that she has been hospitalized. My mother is the strongest woman I know, but her body is frail. With several fractured bones, a fractured skull, and now PERMANENT brain damage, I struggle with how I will continue to care for her. She has to learn to walk again, speak, and do so many basic things all over gain. This is a woman who never asked for help with anything. She is going to get through this and help IS available from many sources. However, those sources require paperwork and time which I do not have alot of. Her home, in great disrepair, is in need of immediate repair to be fit for her return. Sheet rock is falling from the ceiling, and other minor repairs need to be done. As a part-time Zumba instructor, my goal has been to have individual fundraisers to raise just enough to fix these minor things. But, unfortunately, I have not raised enough. I know times are hard and so many others are in far more need of help. But right now, all I can think of is bringing my mom home. I want to see her smile again and be able to spend Christmas with her. I want to make sure she is able to be safe and healthy when she returns. Our roles have reversed and now she is my center and motivation for all I do these days. I'm running out of time and she will be home soon but her home is far from ready. If you can find it in your heart to help us with as little a donation as a dollar, you will be blessed. If you can not, thank you anyway and maybe pass the message along. Thank you for your time and generosity. God bless each of you and your families. If you are blessed to have had a wonderful mother and are still graced with her presence...give her a hug and tell her how much you love her.
