Fitzroy Craig's Recovery Fund

My uncle Fitzroy Craig has always been a fun, loving and active guy with an intense passion for cycling. He cycles everyday for hours and miles on end. On June 10th during one of his beloved bike rides, he was struck from his bike by a motorist who fled the scene of the accident leaving him unconscious and laying on the shoulder of the road. Thankfully, other motorists witnessed the accident and contacted the police and paramedics.

The impact of the collision shattered his helmet into 4 pieces, leaving him with severe brain swelling, torn rotator cuffs and both shoulders dislocated. Had it not been for his helmet, the doctors said his accident would have been fatal.

In the aftermath of his accident, he has been unable to work for the past 4 months to provide for his family. He is unable to perform the most basic of tasks, such as lifting a glass to have a drink of water, as he continues to suffer from chronic pain in his shoulders and throughout his entire body. Additionally, he has been unable to walk without assistance as he continues to suffer from frequent and severe headaches.

In addition to his health concerns, he is faced with mounting medical bills. His health insurance company refuses to pay for his medical expenses and is deferring his claims to the motorist's auto insurance company. The maximum payment from the auto insurance company will only be a mere fraction of his initial medical costs, and dont even begin to cover the costs of other surgeries needed to further his recovery.

In order to regain the use of his shoulders, my uncle Fitzroy Craig is in urgent need of additional surguries and we would greatly appreciate any financial assistance.
