This year 2021 .
My challenge is not only to raised money for Alerta, But to also pay tribute to Sir Captain Tom .
So I shall swim 100 widths a day,
and
Aquawalk 10 circuits of my pool , this equates to 100 metres.
And i will do this over 100 days
I will start my challenge on 2nd June2021 and finish on the 8th of Sept 2021
I am raising money to help my charity .
Associação Alerta de incendio Florestal /Forest fire Alert,
We help the firefighters /Bombeiros of the Algarve , during fire season , buy supplying food and water for the front line crews .20x24 half litre bottles of water and 6 x10 300g boxes of cereal bars , cost €140,
And replacing damaged and burnt Uniforms PPE . The uniforms we buy cost around €350 per person . That is a jacket , trousers, fireproof balaclava and good gortex boots .
Due to Covid we are unable to do our usual fundraising , and fundraising is about giving as well as donating .
So I have decided , that from the 1st of June until the 30th sept. The fire season I will swim 1km a day , in my 4.5m plunge pool .
This equates to 222.2 lengths , so to round it up I will do 225 length a day . for 122 day s

Since I have been tracking my progress on the map I have decided to extend my original target of 122km in 122 days .
So now i am aiming to get from Vila do Bispo bombeiros to VRSA Bombeiros , a total of 147km .
This means i have to do a few extra each day . so now aiming to do between 300 and 350 lengths a day,
