<div>Jeremy Fass was born hearing, but as a toddler he became profoundly deaf due to complications from Spinal Meningitis. At age 4, he began attending the Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind in Tucson, Arizona, where he lived until graduating in 1995. During those early years, Jeremy had never attended church, nor did he have any sort of a relationship with God. That all changed however, after he met his wonderful wife, Kim, who witnessed to him about the love of Jesus, his saving blood, and his promise of everlasting life. Jeremy gave his life to Christ and never looked back!

<div>In 2010, Jeremy felt called to be a pastor, and his dream was to someday start a deaf church - one where the leaders and a majority of the members are deaf themselves. Not long after starting a bible study with just one other deaf person, Jeremy decided to pursue formal education to better equip him for the task. He went on to become the first and only deaf student to graduate from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (aka Gateway), with a Masters degree in Theology Studies. Jeremy is now living his dream as the pastor of Silent Hope Church, the first deaf-led church in the East Valley!

<div>Unfortunately, a few short months ago, dark clouds began to roll into the sky of this sunny story; Jeremy dealt with a seemingly insignificant cough, and after a couple weeks of no relief, tests were done to see if there was something more at play. Sadly, the tests revealed that Jeremy has stage 4 lung cancer. Since then, Jeremy, Kim, and their three grown children have been in the middle of a maelstrom of doctor visits, cancer treatments, emergency hospital stays due to life-threatening complications, and lost income. Though they have had episodes of fear and doubt - as even the best of us would in such a situation - they have weathered this storm with faith, hope, and trust in the Lord that is worthy of imitation. There is no doubt, however, that their need is great and that it is urgent. We, their brothers and sisters in Christ, are in a position to provide them comfort from the comfort that we ourselves have received from God (2 Cor 1:3-5).
