Lindsay Started fighting IBC Breast Cancer in January of 2012 . At the time it was only stage 3 but has moved to her spine becoming Stage 4 as of June 2014 .  She continued to fight the cancer for another 4 years but it finally got ahead of the Chemo and treatments.  Some time in October 2018 the cancer took up residence in her chest wall.  This caused a build up of fluid, which slowly squeezed her lungs and decreased her breathing abilities. She fought this as well, having a pleurx catheter placed in her right side to drain the fluid every other day.  However, her lung capacity continued to drop.  Even the addition of home oxygen did little to help her condition.  In the final days of November 2018 she went to the hospital to have an additional pleurx placed into her left lung/chest.  Soon after she received the news that her right lung was mostly comprised by the fluid build up and that the fluid had coagulated to a point where draining was no longer an option.  So, she concentrated on the left.  I believe we had two to three hopeful days before it too began to coagulate.  In December 2018 we were told it was just a matter of time.  She wanted to fight though, so we did.  She continued Chemo, we tried to actively drain both pleurx.  She took breathing treatments to help her lung capacity.  12/10/18 we made the decision to admit her to a hospice center.  She slept comfortably most of the time.  Lindsay passed around 9pm on 12/11/2018.
