The Fairy Godmothers Network is a group of women who have taken on the mission of saving the world by helping women in need, one at a time.
We will accomplish this mission, in part, by the creation and maintenance of a fund designed to provide women in need with a sum of money significant enough to change their lives.
We are starting out with a goal of raising $5000 for Renee Irby and we're asking for your help to achieve that goal.
Renee and her family are at risk of becoming homeless. The family’s financial struggles are the result of several life altering factors, starting with her husband being laid off and completely unemployed for more than a year. He has since found work at Starbucks, but it comes with a significant cut in income. Renee cleans homes for a living but like many, her field has been devastated by the sluggish economy. Also like many of us, she struggles with mental illness that makes daily life incredibly difficult at times, espeically while trying to maintain a family and life. They have faced catastrophic home and auto repair costs, have five children, three of whom have special needs and incur high medical costs. Renee and her husband have also had medical emergencies which further depleted the family's resources. As a result of this series of tribulations, the family home which they have paid on for over 12 years has been foreclosed on and they are being forced to move. They have high, unpaid utility bills and will not be able to get those services switched to a new home until they are paid off.
We have created this fundraiser to accept financial donations. We're having an auction on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Heavy Anchor to raise additional funds. We're eager for cash donations; we will also gladly accept donations of items, gift certificates and services suitable for auction. We are of the belief that big changes can be the result of small kindnesses. Anything you give will be greatly appreciated. Please contact us with any questions or to make a donation.
