<div>For over two decades, Fade to Black Entertainment Society (FTBE) has worked to uplift, preserve, and celebrate Black voices across music, film, and storytelling in Vancouver and beyond. This Black History Month, we are proud to host a special fundraiser titled “Reflections of Vancouver’s Black History.”

<div>This intimate gathering is more than an event—it is a moment of recognition, remembrance, and renewal. We are coming together to honour the Black and Afro-diasporic artists, elders, organizers, and cultural storytellers whose creativity and leadership helped shape Vancouver’s cultural landscape, often without recognition or resources.

<div>Keynote reflections from local Black leaders and creatives

<div>A curated art exhibition highlighting Black expression and memory

<div>Appetizers by Riddim &amp; Spice, one of Vancouver’s longest-standing Jamaican restaurants
</div>

</div>
<div>Live music and DJ sets celebrating the sounds that have carried our stories across generations
</div>

<div>This fundraiser directly supports FTBE’s year-round community programming, including Black Music Month (June), the Vancouver Black Independent Film Festival (October), and our growing Black Book Festival. These initiatives provide paid opportunities, platforms, and visibility for Black artists who are too often excluded from mainstream systems.

<div>Funds raised will help us sustain these programs, compensate artists fairly, and continue building culturally affirming spaces where our histories and futures are told by us, for us.
