Help save our FIP Warrior Lincoln

We just received the diagnosis of FIP positive in wet form for our rescue kitty Lincoln. Unfortunately it is a rare and often fatal virus in 95% of most cases. This virus is a mutated form of a common feline coronavirus FCoV.  We are terribly worried for him. Our only hope is getting him started on costly Experimental treatments. Unfortunately, these treatments have not been approved through FDA but have shown some promising recovery in many cases if treated early. We have been told up to 80% chance of reversing this virus. We were told about a group who helps others with FIP positive kitties and they have been incredible in guiding us how to proceed in this scary situation with obtaining these treatments and other tests that will be needed which we have already scheduled. All these puzzle pieces to this new rare diagnosis have been coming together in literally two days since We reached out for help!

Why are we asking for help? We ask because we need your help obtaining these treatments as soon as possible! They are expensive and we will need 84 days min of treatment. Just alone in the discovery phase of diagnosing and additional tests that will need to be completed for his care plan we are looking at quickly reaching $2000 mark. This is before the costs of treatments. We ask because Lincoln deserves this chance to fight and is extremely urgent we start treatments today! This virus is extremely aggressive!

Lincoln has had a rough start being rescued with his littermate Lexi from a cat hoarding situation. He most likely was abused and he is only 16 months old. The rescue shelter we adopted him from ARC worked tirelessly to give him a better life and matched us up perfectly as a family! We adopted four rescues within 4 months of one another to start over our little family after the loss of our beloved 16 year old wedgie. Since bringing Lincoln home May 28th he went from constantly hiding, scared of everything to chasing his siblings around the house and enjoying his quality food diet and treats. We have gained enough trust in a few short months to where he is now sitting on my husbands lap and allowing us to occasionally pick him up and hug him. We have made huge strides with gaining his trust. We are heartbroken to face the possibility that we may lose him to this disease. We are heartbroken that his siblings may loose him.

Any money raised left over after treatment is completed for Lincoln will be donated toward the rescue ARC (Animal Rescue Carolina). We thank you for your support by reading our story, sharing, your thoughts and prayers as we go through this journey and of course for donating.
