Your donation will go directly to pay for emergency food supplies for the people of Shankar Kheda, a village of about 250, located near Udaipur, Rajasthan, India.
100% of your contribution will go directly for basic food supplies of rice, lentils, flour, cooking oil, along with various herbs and spices used in Indian cooking. There are no admin or management fees taken except routine Gofundme charges.
The Bhil tribe is the largest indigenous tribe in India, and they are pretty much regarded as the lowest of the low (caste) The speak their own language, with most have only limited skills in Hindi. This village, Shankar Kheda, is isolated and is recieving no government food supplies in this time of nationwide lockdown. THE PEOPLE ARE HUNGRY. They need food now. Their men are peasant farmers or field workers, however, in the dry season there is no food and very little work.
They need more than just food, but in this campaign we are only addressing their most important need. You can help them to survive in this time of the Corona Virus. They know nothing of you or me. They don't have internet, wifi, or smartphones. Most of them are ignorant of the global pandemic and what is happening anywhere outside of their village. They aren't wearing masks or practicing social distancing, or following the news of new cases or any of that. They're just the simplest of poor people who are hungry.
A member of our team, Dinesh Vasita, lives near them. I will forward all donations directly to him and he will buy food and take it directly to the village. Simple. Dinesh is the first man you see in our video. Look at the pictures. This is real.
