Famagusta's Unwanted Dogs

The animal welfare in North Cyprus is currently well below that of the western world. The lucky strays in Kyrenia may end up at the KAR Rescue Centre which is run with no government funding. However, for all the strays outside that area there is very little or no hope! There are also many more living rough in the streets, if they haven't been already shot or poisoned!
Therefore, what I'm hoping to achieve is raise as much funding as possible to help us to help these lost souls.
Part of the problem here in North Cyprus is that many of the local people don't believe in neutering and generally euthanasia is not supported here unless an animal is very sick and can't be saved. So you can see where the source of the problem lies, but we are dealing with the symptom, far too many unwanted dogs and puppies!
We are very lucky in Famagusta in that we have a very supportive local council which is in the process of building a purpose built animal shelter. When it is finished, we will be able to relocate our dogs into the kennel blocks out of the temporary pound they are in just now.
The local council also supplies food and water for the dogs, however, they rely almost exclusively on voluntary labour to muck out, feed, water and medicate over 300 dogs and puppies 7 days a week, 12 months a year!!!
You can imagine what life is like for these dogs and puppies which are getting dumped daily? At least these are the luckier ones as they are safe, fed and watered and if sick get the veterinary care. They don't have what every dog should have and thats a home to call their own. Dogs shouldn't have to live like this and we try to enrich their lives wherever we can while they are at FARC.
What what we aim to to at FARC is make our dogs lives a little more comfortable by providing kennels, bedding, doggy pools, toys etc. Out ultimate goal is to rehome as many as possible to wherever that may be and we can't do all this without your wonderful support.
SO PLEASE CONTRIBUTE WHATEVER YOU CAN AFFORD NO MATTER HOW LITTLE, IT COULD MEAN SUCH A DIFFERENCE TO AT LEAST ONE OF OUR 300+ DOGS AND PUPPIES?
