MY NAME IS DONNA ANDREWS AND I AM JAYDEN POWELLS AUNTIE!
Our Story -
JANUARY 2017
Some would say january is the best month of the year but for our family it was the start of the worst nightmare we have all ever had to face!
Jayden my 16 year old at the time nephew fell ill! weeks of excruiciating headaches, sickness, dizzyness and failed attempts to be seen by a professional at our local hospital resulted in a simple Eye Test which confirmed our worst fears!
Jayden had a Glioblastoma tumour behind his left eye! in his Left Temporal Lobe.
He has battled through Chemo, Radiotherapy and months of bloods, CT scans, MRI scans, being prodded and poked by every medical personel to which he HAS NEVER COMPLAINED once.
December following another round of CHEMO our oncologist confirmed that the NHS could do no more him!
WE KNOW WE CAN GET LIFE SAVING IMMUNOTHERAPY FOR HIM WHICH HAS PROVEN TO HAVE AMAZING RESULTS!
We will be using funds from this page for immunotherapy treatment needed for Jayden Powell at the Hallwang Klinik Germany.
MARCH 1ST -
JAYDEN WAS RUSHED OVERNIGHT TO THE HALLWANG IN A LIFE OR DEATH LAST MINUTE ATTEMPT TO GET HIM TREATMENT!
ONE MINUTE - OUR HOSPICE NURSE WAS HANDING ME A BOOK CALLED "HOW TO DEAL WITH THE DEATH OF A CHILD" TO READ TO HIS TWO BROTHERS CALLUM & LIAM. THE NEXT MINUTE AN AMBULANCE ARRIVED TO HELP HIM. OUR UK NHS IS AN AMAZING SERVICE! BUT OUR TREATMENTS THAT ARE AVAILABLE COMPARED TO THE REST OF THE WORLD IS PREHISTORIC.
THE HALLWANG ACCEPTED THE DEPOSIT PAYMENT BUT THERES A HUGE BUT!!!
WE NOW NEED TO KEEP HIM THERE AND GET HIM BACK TO HEALTH!
He is responding amazingly to the 1st phase of treatment given which is listed below!
1. AVASTIN - which he wasnt allowed in the UK because he was five months short of his 18th birthday
2. AFATINIB - which the hospital in the UK stated he wasnt fit enough to have!
3. DENTRICTIC CELL TRIAL - which the UK hospital stated because he had been given STEROIDS he wasnt allowed to go on!
NEXT WEEK
We see the start of his 2nd PHASE immunotherapy - our funding is near to EMPTY.
Now we need to find £12,000 per week to KEEP him on track!
Dealing with the worries of a child with Cancer is enough on our family without the worries of the financial burdens to save him! Jaydens LIFE should not be about when his 18th birthday fell or the level in his parents bank balance. We will fight for him and everyother child who deserves the chance to be given ANY medicine that could possibally HELP, CURE or EXTEND life! because HE IS FAMILY and FAMILY IS OUR LIFE!!!
Steve & Hayley were blown away with 16,000 people who have joined our army to Fight for Jaydens life on facebook!
And for the STAFF, CREW, WORKFORCE at all the Film Studios who have collected, donated and donated again to help him! totalling over £40,000 alone!
