<div><strong>Kala’s Everest Base Camp trekking: Empowering Stammerers &amp; Defying Age</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hi, I'm Kala, a 52-year-old female explorer who stammers from childhood and self-learnt how to manage by becoming a covert stammerer. I've spent most of my teenage life with blocks in my speech, but I've learned that no obstacle is too big. I'm preparing for my next challenge-trekking to Everest Base Camp in October 2026.

</div>
<div><strong>Why Everest Base Camp? This mountain is my way of proving three things:</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Stammerers can do anything: I've fought against flashes of self-doubt, like avoiding public speaking, but I have found my voice. I am determined to encourage other stammerers to chase their ambitions, however huge.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Fitness does not have a retirement age: At 52, I work out each day to show how staying fit and setting targets keeps us young-hearted.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Goals transform lives: Despite the struggles in life, chasing this aspiration has given me purpose and perseverance. I would love to encourage others to pursue theirs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Join me on this journey! Keep an eye out for my training updates here, and thank you so much for believing in me!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Want to hear more about my experiences? </strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Read my book, Shouting from the Summits, which has been published on Amazon and major online bookstores. It's packed with stories of my past climbs as well as of my experiences with stammering, describing how I've turned adversity into triumph. You can also search for <a href="https://www.kalaramachandran.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">my website</a>, where you can locate photographs of my treks throughout the years. These moments of enlightenment about my passion for the mountains will give you an idea of why I'm attempting Aconcagua again!
