Evelyn was born with polymicrogyria, epilepsy, microcephaly, infantile spasms and cortical visual impairment. Polymicrogyria (PMG) is a rare condition characterized by abnormal development of the brain before birth. It generally means there are too many folds on the surface of the brain and they are usually small.
Evelyn is 2 years old but is functioning like an 8 month old. She can't walk, crawl, sit up unassisted, reach for toys, talk or do anything a "typical" 2 year old is supposed to do. She has regular therapists and therapy sessions 7 times a week.
Recently, we recieved a wheelchair for her and unfortunately, it doesn't fit in the trunk of my current vehicle. The measurements seem to fit that of an SUV or a vehicle with a hatchback. However, being a single mom of two girls, makes it difficult to save up money. We have started this fundraiser to help us achieve a more efficient vehicle faster.
