Schwartz Family Support Fund

Evelyn Schwartz is a beautiful 14 year old from Petoksey, Michigan. Evie loves art, music, science and hanging out with friends.  She is also part of the robotics team. Unfortunately, rather than enjoying her Freshman year at Petoskey High School, Evelyn is fighting a rare cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma.  When the cancer was first detected, it came on so strongly and acutely that Evie was in critical condition and spent 50 days hospitalized at the Helen Devos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
     Although Evelyn is spending time at home, she is  undergoing a 54 week course of chemotherapy coupled with radiation in Grand Rapids. While it is a blessing that we have an institution the caliber of Devos Childrens Hospital in Michigan, it means that the Schwartz Family travels down and stays in Grand Rapids every week; on a bad week more than once.
     The Schwartz Family (Evelyn, Mark, Kim, Harris and dog Merle) are beloved members of the Northern Michigan community.  As the giving season approaches, please consider donating to the Schwartz Family Fund.
