I got accepted to Harvest School 18 in Mozambique! Basically Harvest School is a Missionary training camp started by Heidi and Rolland Baker for training and equipping missionaries. At Harvest School we learn about who Jesus is on a deeper level and we learn to translate that in the way we live. Love looks like something and we are learning to see love and to look like love. Yay!!! He does not forget the dreams in our hearts!
I love Love. He has touched my life and I am ready to dive into His heart. Wow! Isn't it the most wonderful thing to know that the love of God comes down and breaks off all the chains with Joy and laughter.
Just now I had a vision and I would love to share it with you:I saw a dark room and Jesus was passing me a candle. I think it was a candle of anointing. and it's not for me to hold a long time. It's a small light. There were African children lined up in a row all had a candle too, and I got to light each one of their candles and the room glowed with warmth and glory.Our father is rich in love and compassion and He doesn't let our flames die.
I want to know Christ and the power of His Resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that which Christ Jesus took hold of me. One thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Q: What is Harvest School?
A: Harvest School is a missionary training camp. At Harvest School their ultimate goal is to teach us to see Jesus in the eyes of the dying, the broken, and the lost. It is an international mission training school where we can learn to live, love, and learn from the poor. It was started by Heidi and Rolland Baker as an extension of Iris ministries - their international missions ministry. This is the 18th session - there are two sessions a year.
Q: What will you be doing there?
A: The missions base is also a children's village (a place where orphaned kids are brought in from the streets and adopted by their heavenly Father) In the morning we will be listening to a speaker. We also have required readings and responses to them. in the afternoon there is a Q&A session with the speaker on the topic they were talking about. We will also be doing bush outreaches where we go into the bush for a couple days at a time and spend time in the villages ministering to people who have not heard about Jesus yet. When you graduate from Harvest School at the end of the summer, some of the people there might invite you to work at one of the Iris bases around the world or in Mozambique!
Q: How did you decide on going?
A: I've felt the call of being a missionary when I was a freshmen in college - even before I really had an encounter with Jesus. Last summer I read Heidi Baker's book Compelled by Love it changed my life and when I found out she had a ministry in South Korea, I wanted to be a part of it! In order to serve on the Iris bases you have to graduate from Harvest School. For a lot of times along the way I felt doubt about whether or not I was truly called to go, but I think when my heart was bare I honestly felt that going to HS18 was the only option for me.
Q: How long will you be there?
A: I will be there for about 2.5 months: I am leaving NYC on May 25, and Arriving back on August 10.
Q: Where are all the donations going?
A: The Tuition costed $2,600 - there was a mistake on my previous emails, I thought there was an additional fee of $50 but I was wrong.
The air fare costs $2,650 - on a side note, my parents have generously agreed to pay for my plane ticket up front and donate $1,000 but I still need to raise the rest of the ticket and other expenses.
Other expenses include: medication, immunizations, required reading books, water, camping supplies, toiletries, clothes and shoes (because of weight restrictions, I cannot bring things like these), lots of bug repellent, and other things I still need to figure out.
Q: Where does the tuition go?
A: food, housing, and costs of outreaches. Iris is also always trying to grow and expand their base so some of the tuition will go towards making the base better for future HS classes.
Q: I am so excited! How can I be a part of this?
A: Commit to being a prayer warrior for me and support this financially! My goal is $6,000 but I am realizing that this may not be enough to cover all the supplies I will need. I am hoping that a total of 60 students who will contribute $50.00 or more and $25 working people who will contribute $120.00 or more. I know this can be a lot to ask of you guys but this is an incredible opportunity to be a part of God's kingdom in Mozambique and I would love to share this with as many people as possible! Though you all have different financial circumstances right now, God is most blessed by those who are generous, not out of their wealth, but out of their personal sacrifice so whether that is time or finances, please pray about giving! Don't worry about small amounts either, I know God takes a heart of faith and multiplies it to feed the multitudes.

A: You can commit to being a prayer warrior and say you will pray for me everyday, every week, every-other week, etc. I will definitely need as much prayer as I can get
