Eric's Recovery Fund

Donation protected
On December 17th early morning, our brother Eric was getting ready  for bed when he accidentally fell and was left paralyzed on floor. Our sister found him and after seeing the severity of what had happened called the ambulance where he was rushed to  St. Davids Hospital. They performed an emergency MRI and CT scan where the neurosurgeon  discovered a blood clot/contusion on his spinal cord. Immediately after he was sent in for a 6 hour spinal surgery to decompress the spine and fuse C2 through C7. Eric has been under medical care since that day without any type of insurance.

Our sister Gloria, has been taking care of him since she is the only one that lives in Austin where his accident occurred. She has been trying her best to talk to case managers to see what type of help he can qualify for, but unfortunately things are not looking good. Today we received news that his emergency Medicaid was not approved, therefore all upcoming expenses must be paid out of pocket.

Eric's road to recovery is going to be long, there are many things that he will need for his care and to help with daily life . Some important things he will need that need to be paid out of pocket include:
- Medical Equipment such as a walker, cane, wheel chair, bench for shower and possibly a medical bed
- Numerous  medications
- Rehabilitation to help with getting him back to walking once again (4 sessions/week for the next 6 months at $100/session)
- Provider care to help with daily things he cannot do
- Living expenses since he cannot work during this recovery period.

Doctors are not sure when Eric will be back on his feet and working again. As a family, we are coming together to see what we can do to help. Any contribution that can be made would be greatly appreciated. I know this is something that could happen to anyone and just goes to show how precious and delicate life really is.

Thank you all for your prayers and for taking the time to read this. Should anyone have any questions we are here to answer as well as to provide updates on how the funds are being spent during Eric's care. We also understand that anyone reading this may not be able to help contribute financially and that is completely ok, all we ask in this case is to please help share this campaign so that it can get as much exposure as possible.
