Help Citizens Opposed to Crematoriums Adjacent to Residential Homes (COCARH)
Our non-profit organization, registered in Quebec, needs your support to oppose, as a last resort before the courts, the construction of a crematorium with two high-capacity incinerators (6,000 cremations per year) that would be located in a residential area 25 metres from homes in Saint-Bruno- de-Montarville.
This crematorium, which will be one of the largest in the Montreal Metropolitan Community, will be part of a large supra-regional funeral complex built by the Funeral Cooperative of Greater Montreal on a small lot zoned Neighborhood Commercial.
The prevailing winds will dump mercury (a neurotoxin), dioxins (which produce birth defects) and numerous contaminants on nearby homes, sensitive areas of the city and in Mont Saint-Bruno National Park.
Help us denounce the current cremation practices in Quebec. A provincial scandal that affects thousands of citizens!
