Study Abroad in Japan 2015

Donation protected
こんにちは!(konnichiwa!) My name is Emily Pellerin and I am raising money to study abroad in Japan for a semester.
I am a sophomore at Texas Tech University and am majoring in Business Marketing with an emphasis in Supply Chain Management. (Long name, right?) I am also minoring in Japanese. My interest in Japan and Japanese culture started when I was really young. My best friend from elementary school, Rachel, is part Japanese and introduced me to Japanese culture. Her family became like a second family to me, always caring for me and welcoming me into their home. Rachel's mother would cook Japanese food while telling me about her visits to her family in Japan. Rachel gave me my first Japanese book. When I moved in 8th grade, we would talk over the phone all the time and spend spring break together discussing new Japanese books over Japanese food. When searching for a university to attend, the first thing I'd ask a recruiter is, "Does the university have Japanese? Would I have the ability to study abroad in Japan?" Following in my sister's footsteps, I applied and started to attend Texas Tech University. I am now in my fourth semester of Japanese and my interest has only grown. I spend much of my free time conversing with friends in Japan via Skype and work with my classmates on improving my Japanese. I constantly watch Youtube videos about people's lives in Japan to learn everything I can about going to Japan, living there, and cultural differences. My interest in Japanese has seeped into my career goals as I am looking for a job that would allow me to use Japanese on a frequent basis.
They always say that fluency is best learned through immersion. That is one of the many reasons I want to go to Japan. To be fluent in Japanese is one of my biggest dreams. Fluency in a language is one of the most intimidating and admirable things a person can do in my mind. I want to become intimidating.
I am currently paying for my college education completely out of loans. Thanks to my father's advice and assistance, I keep a close eye on my finances and every penny I borrow from the bank. To minimize the use of loans during my trip, I have started by saving up as much money as I can. Every cent earned from my job has gone directly into my savings for my study abroad trip, but I'm still nowhere near my goal. I want to raise enough money to not have to use a single loan to pay for my trip, which is proving to be a challenge, but a challenge that I will overcome! Please help me in my goal and my dream!
