Miss Montana Contestant

I have been afforded the opportunity to compete for the Miss Montana USA title this September in Missoula. I am honored and excited to have a chance at representing the great state of Montana at the Miss America Pageant. Having been raised in Montana I have been fortunate with the unmatched landscape Montana provides to enjoy the outdoors, the small communities, and the unique cowboy culture. As a young girl Glacier National Park was a playground my grandfather took me to in the summers, the Blackfoot River was a fishing adventure with my father, and the art galleries and shops where a fun afternoon with my mother. My childhood under the Big Sky has blessed me with family and community values, a love for fly fishing, backpacking, and horses. I have learned to value local communities, Montana Land, and commitment, class, and compassion. I have been incredibly fortunate for the positive influences, habits, and values I have gained from the horse world as well as the outdoorsmen, conservationists, and ranchers in my life. I have a very strong belief in the positive influence animals and nature has on an individual. This belief has brought me to Carroll College where I am a full time student working on a double major in psychology and anthrozoology. I have set a goal of attending graduate school to later build a career in counseling focusing on the impacts of human-animal and human-nature relationships. I would like to work in a counseling setting utilizing equine assisted therapies and activities. My education is key in reaching this goal, and as a student a Carroll I feel confident I will make it.

Competing for a title like Miss Montana USA is not only time consuming, but expensive. I have set a goal of raising $1700.00 in cash sponsorships and advertisement sales as well as support through goods and services. Funds from cash sponsorships and advertisement sales will go towards the $1000.00 requirement. This will cover the weekend event, gifts and prizes for contestants as well as the new Miss Montana USA, production of the pageant, and expenses Miss Montana USA will encounter. The remaining funds raised will be set aside for wardrobe and travel expenses. There are no donation amount guidelines, so every generous dollar counts and will be greatly appreciated. However, my top three sponsors will be featured and logos placed on business cards.
