A Service Dog for Elizabeth

Donation protected
Born at 22 weeks, weighing only a pound, Elizabeth fit in the palm of my hand.  She was given a 10% chance of survival, but she defied the odds and showed incredible determination to live.  After five “grade 5” brain bleeds as an infant, Elizabeth was diagnosed as “Spastic Quadriplegic with Cerebral Palsy” and is unable to care for herself.  Add on later diagnoses of Epilepsy, Scoliosis, Cortical Blindness, Autism and the inability to speak for herself; she is totally dependent on others every moment of every day of her life.

Elizabeth was recently presented with a life changing opportunity.  A puppy; gifted to her for the soul purpose of becoming her Service Dog.  Bella will be trained to alert me when Elizabeth begins a seizure.  She will learn tasks to diffuse Neurostorming episodes which cause extreme anxiety and will allow Elizabeth to become less dependent on dozens of sedatives.  Elizabeth will no longer live in a drugged induced fog, unable to enjoy and participate in life.  Her Service Dog Bella will open doors, ride the school bus and be a constantly calming companion.  Bella will provide Elizabeth the opportunity to live life with less limitation... something everyone deserves.

Bella’s Service Dog training requires 8-10 months of intense work and comes with a high price tag; but the rewards far outweigh the costs.

Less 911 calls and less ambulance rides. Elizabeth’s anxiety due to doctor visits and hospital stays will decrease.  Harsh medications causing kidney and liver failure will be replaced with a trained Service Animal that will give Elizabeth the quality of life we’ve only dreamed of for her.

All monies raised go directly to Bella's training.  Any excess will be used to establish a Service Dog Scholarship fund with Joint Forces K9, in Elizabeth and Bella’s names.  Special needs children should be given every opportunity to live life without limits and without financial hardships due to required accommodations.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know Elizabeth and Bella and for making the decision to be the difference in the life of this amazing girl.  Please follow us on Facebook at “Life with Elizabeth” and check out our blog link below.
