Andy Martello's El Rey Club Book Project

After nearly EIGHT YEARS of research, collecting of artifacts, and interviews the El Rey Club book is ready for the world...almost!

The book has been written and rewritten six times.
The copy editor is giving it a final look.
The graphic designer is working on beautiful cover artwork.

The next big step is to get this to the publisher. I have chosen to self-publish and thankfully, there are many options for self-publishing and distributing a book these days. Unfortunately they are not all as free as a print-on-demand book would suggest.

Among the things that makes a book of this nature sell well and entertain the reader even better is the addition of rare or unpublished photos. Finding images that correspond to the piece of history being discussed simply makes it easier to bring the story to life.

My book will feature over 100 photos and almost all of them have never been published. While many images are donated by some of Willie Martello's family, the ones that aren't must be licensed and paid for. The amount per photo is not a lot, but it is significant and that's why I am asking for your donations to help. Oh yeah, I may also want to pay the editor and the graphic designer. I'm certain they would appreciate that.

The amount I'm asking does not represent the entire cost of the project. It only offsets the cost of photos, printing, and some professional services. I don't expect the world to pay for everything. I'm merely asking for help so I can make this dream come true. Should your generosity exceed my goal, you can be assured that money will go towards making the final product even better.

I've tried to come up with some fun Reward Level Incentives, but these are all on a first-come, first-served basis. I'll be offering versions of the book that come with actual memorabilia from the El Rey Club, making it possible for you to own not just the story, but an actual piece of history. The items may run out so be forewarned.
