At 26 weeks pregnant Derek and I got devistating need that one of our babies may have a brain bleed. Our OB sent us to a specalist, we got the ultrasound and the specialist pulled us into his office. The first words out of his mouth were its not looking good for baby A he's probably not going to survive this pregnancy let alone birth. This hit both of us hard no one wants to hear that their child isn't going to make it. We still had no answers to what caused the bleed so he sent us to Houston after 2 days of testing once again another Dr tells us EASTON isn't going to survive. He said in order to keep baby B alive we have to keep baby A alive Because of he dies it could harm baby B! They completely gave up on him but derek & I didnt!!! Test results came back just days later and we learned that we have NAIT Neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia) which means our blood isn't compatible, therefor I had to start IVIG treatments ASAP which are $12,000 a treatment. They wanted me to get 6 more treatments before they took the babies but 4 days after my first treatment I went into labor. They tried everything to stop my labor and couldn't. My Dr came in at noonand said in taking these babies today give me 30 minutes I gotta make some phone calls by 1:05 & 1:07 pm they were here! The drs told the nurses to expect to intubated baby A because like I said before the drs didn't expect him to live! Derek left my side to walk the boys to the NICU he never left Eastons side, both babies were breathing on their own it was a miracle we were prepared for the nurses and drs to tell us EASTON hadn't made it! Baby easton had to have surgery to put an access device under his skull so they can tap in and drain fluid during surgery they drained 30ml of fluid off of his brain! The boys Dr came in and said EASTON is a true miracle baby! This has been a long couple months for derek and I from going to 3 different drs to having preemie babies in the NICU living at the hospital gets expensive we truly appreciate every penny donated to help us through this hard time! Keep praying for our sweet miracle babies he's listening and working a miracle on both of them! God is good!
