<div>Ich bin Jule, die Mama von Connor.

<div>Mein Sohn hat Muskeldystrophie Duchenne (DMD), auch als Muskelschwund bezeichnet.
</div>
<div>Die Krankheit hat zufolge, dass sich Muskelgewebe stetig abbaut. Später wird die Funktion von Herz und Lunge auch betroffen sein. Medikamente können nur die Symptome lindern, ABER ein Heilmittel gibt es (noch) nicht.
</div>
<div>Ebenso wurde Connor mit der Autismus-Spektrum-Störung diagnostiziert, so dass er mit allem im Leben Hilfe benötigt.
</div>

<div>Connor ist so ein lebensfroher Mensch. Die Krankheit bringt ebenso ein sehr verkürztes Leben mit sich. Die durchschnittliche Lebenserwartung liegt derzeit bei 25 Jahren.
</div>
<div>Ich als Mutter möchte Connor noch so viele schöne Momente im Leben schenken.
</div>
<div>Mein Sohn liebt die Natur, Menschen und Kultur, Geschichte und Oldtimer. Daher haben wir auch schon Museen (in ganz Deutschland) besucht.
</div>
<div>Wir leben in einer Kleinstadt, wo Bus-und Bahnanbindung sehr schlecht sind, außerdem werden weitere Hilfsmittel bei jeder Tour benötigt.
</div>
<div>Es wäre eine wahnsinnige körperliche Erleichterung, Connor(bereits 45kg) ohne Umsetzung, und manuelle Verladung des Rollstuhls, auf Reisen zu schicken. Natürlich wird das Auto aber vor allem im Alltag für Einkäufe, Therapien und Arztbesuche (Fachkliniken 50 km entfernt) benötigt.

<div>Wir bitten euch daher mit dieser Aktion um eine Geldspende, damit ich für Connor ein behindertengerechtes Auto erwerben oder entsprechend umbauen lassen kann, damit Connor im Rollstuhl transportiert werden kann.

<div>My son has a genetic disorder called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). This disease causes his muscle tissue to steadily degrade, later the heart and lungs will also be affected. Medications can only relieve symptoms and (modestly) slow the rate of disease progression, BUT presently there is no cure.

<div>Connor needs help with every single aspect in his life. He has also been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

<div>Connor is such a cheerful person, who loves life. He will not have a very long life. As his mother, I would still like to give Connor many beautiful moments.

<div>My son loves nature, culture, history and classic cars. That is why we have already visited museums all over Germany.

<div>We live in a small town where bus and train connections are very poor, and medicinal aids are needed on every tour.
</div>

<div>It would be an intense physical relief to transport Connor (already 45kg) without first needing to take him in and out of his wheelchair when travelling. Of course, the car is especially needed in everyday life for shopping and doctor's appointments (specialist clinics are 50 km away).
