Effingham County Portion of Ga Hi-Lo Trail Plan

Want to join me in making a difference? We're raising money to benefit Georgia HI-Lo Trail Inc, specifically to bring this trail through EFFINGHAM COUNTY & GUYTON.

Earlier in 2021, the City of Guyton invested $3,250 to be a part of the Trail Master Planning project and we've asked Effingham County to invest the same for a total of $7,500 from the public sector.

Ashley Parker, Executive Director of Bike Effingham has fundraised $1,400 for this cause. Now we need $6,100 in private matching funds to reach the Effingham County community goal of $15,000.

These funds will be going to pay for a Comprehensive Master Plan (done by PATH Foundation) for the Georgia Hi-Lo Trail, which will show exactly where this road-separated, paved trail will be located in Effingham County and the City of Guyton.

Georgia Hi-Lo Trail Vision:

Connect two trail projects to form a 250-mile paved, road-separated path through small Georgia towns from Athens to Savannah.

1)   Firefly Trail - begins in Athens and will end in Union Point, a distance of 39 miles when completed. Firefly Trail, Inc. began their work in 2007 and have been true “trail blazers” across small communities in Georgia. 

2)   Georgia Hi-Lo Trail -  will connect to the Firefly Trail in Union Point and continue on to Savannah – a 211-mile stretch through rural Georgia (through Effingham County & the City of Guyton)
