Last Wednesday, Hurricane Eta moved into Honduras bringing absolute devastation. Honduras has been caught completely off guard in the midst of an already painful and difficult year due to Covid-19. Heavy rains from the hurricane have left Honduras flooded. 80% of all crops have been lost due to the flooding and mudslides, exacerbating the food security crisis they've been facing all year. Many communities all over the country are still without power since the day Eta hit (almost one week now). The aftermath is even worse than that of Hurricane Mitch in 1998. Devastation no one saw coming in the midst of a year when people are already out of work and starving due to Covid. Floodwaters have destroyed homes, roads, and even the airport- topping the rooftops of  two-story buildings as you'll see in the photos. People have been trapped on rooftops for three days without food. We are trying to raise $15,000 as quickly as possible for CEPUDO. This money will be used to locally buy food, mattresses, clothing, personal hygiene items, portable stoves, and other supplies that the shelters need. Hondurans need immediate relief.
