Ecuador Volunteer Mission - IVHQ

Hey, all! I'm Joanna Sapienza, living in Melbourne, Florida.  As most of you know, I try to do volunteer work overseas (and home) yearly.  In their time of need, I will be going to Ecuador to help out!  From May 30 - June 8, I plan on volunteering with underprivileged children and families through a program called International Volunteer Headquarter (www.volunteerhq.org). 

As it states on the website,  "For many Ecuadorian children, school is never an option. These children spend 365 days a year working in the streets and markets, selling goods and performing with their parents to help their families stay alive."

I will be doing my best to ensure that these children are able to have some relief, if only temporary, to enjoy the life of being a child.  I plan on teaching some basic English language skills and hope to inspire them by setting an example of how to create your own life by making it yours and not falling into what is known.  Explore the unknown!!! 

I will also be accepting donations such as clothes, toys, diapers, etc.  Any money that is left over will be used to purchase these items, as well.

The amount I am striving for is $950 - this is to cover the program fees and airfare.  As I mentioned, any left over money will be put to good use for those in need.  

I would LOVE to have friends come along, so PLEASE don't think twice about joining me!!! For those of you who say that you can't do it - YES, YOU CAN!  I am living proof of it.
