All young children dream about what they want to be when they grow up. For some it’s a fireman, for others, a nurse. For me? My dream has always been a life in the theatre. Be it dancing, acting, singing, or anything you can think of, I want the opportunity to do it all! Unfortunately for many people, their dreams fade and are never fulfilled. I never thought my dream would be possible but that didn’t stop me trying.
My name is Harriet Munday. I am 21 years old from Cottingham in East Yorkshire.
Each year 1000’s of people audition for the leading London drama schools, but because there are so few places available, very few people are successful. After a tremendous amount of hard work, persistence and determination I have been accepted at the prestigious MTA (Musical Theatre Academy) in London.
There are only 22 places at MTA each academic year (44 students in the school at any one time) and I have been offered one of them. The only thing stopping me from actually chasing my lifelong dream is the vulgar subject of money.
I fully intend to get a job when I move down to London to help support myself. I have been working as a Subway supervisor for the past 12 months to save up some money and have managed to put away £5000 which will help with living costs for the first 6 months of my training.
Please help me make my dream become a reality. The course fees are £16,000 per year without any living expenses( £32,000 in total) and I start my training in October 2018. I am looking for sponsorship or donations, however large or small, because as a famous supermarket says, “every little helps”
