<div>We are a group of neighbors from the East Bank neighborhoods in Minneapolis working together to support our neighbors in crisis. Many of our neighbors have been targeted by ICE, had family members abducted, and have been forced to shelter in place to protect themselves. Due to the long-term trauma and turmoil that Operation Metro Surge has brought into our city, many families still lack consistent income and have not been able to catch up financially. We are hoping to raise rent funds for 5+ families that have been affected, for this month and previous months rent that may have been missed. Any extra funds will be used to support additional mutual aid efforts like legal fees, grocery support, medical expenses, etc.

</div>
<div><strong>Please donate to help keep families in their homes by directly supporting their living expenses.</strong> Many individuals have not been able to work as the threat of abduction has made it unsafe for them to leave their homes Others, such as small business owners, have lost their livelihood due to their main clientele being fearful to come out to their businesses.

<div>For the sake of privacy and safety, those receiving funds must remain anonymous. We take care of each other, we keep us safe, and we do so with love at the forefront. Though we may not know each individual directly, we believe that any neighbor in need, is our neighbor. We believe in building community as we do this work.

<div><strong>How are families identified?</strong>
</div>
<div>Families and other vulnerable neighbors are identified through trusted community networks. To protect families, we do not publicly share identifying details. Those in need can also contact us through the contact button at the bottom of this page. Please do not include sensitive information like full name, address or phone number.

<div><strong>What will funds be used for?</strong>
</div>
<div>Funds are meant to be used to cover living expenses for those in need in the East Bank neighborhoods. This can include rent or mortgage payments, utilities, groceries, medical bills, legal bills and everyday necessities. Receipts and proof of dispersal of funds can be requested once payments have been made or funds are sent directly to families. Again, for the sake of safety and privacy, names and identifying information will be omitted.

<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>How will families receive funds?</strong>
</div>
<div>Those in need can submit a request through our campaign's contact form or connect with community members in the East Bank neighborhoods. A community member will reach out and connect with applicants about their needs. Once the request is approved, funds will be withdrawn to a community member's bank account. Applicants can choose to receive funds in cash (delivered by the community member) or through some electronic transfer methods.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>How do I know my donation is being used to support families?</strong>
</div>
<div>Beneficiaries are vouched for by community members who know them personally or referred through existing support networks.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>What will happen with remaining funds, if there are any?</strong>
</div>
<div>Funds are intended for ongoing financial relief and will roll over month to month. If our goal is reached and the current families’ rent is paid, we will use remaining money on other mutual aid efforts for our neighbors such as legal fees, medical expenses, grocery support, etc. GoFundMe donors will be informed of any changes.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Is this a long-term program?</strong>
</div>
<div>This fund is designed to address immediate needs as they arise. While the fund may continue as long as needs persist, it is not a replacement for systemic solutions or public responsibility.
</div>
<div>We will share general updates about the number of folks supported, and how funds are being used. We do not keep or publish recipient details.
