<div>We are a group of neighbors from the East Bank neighborhoods in Minneapolis working together to support our neighbors in crisis. Many of our neighbors have been targeted by ICE, had family members abducted, and have been forced to shelter in place to protect themselves. Due to the long-term trauma and turmoil that Operation Metro Surge has brought into our city, many families still lack consistent income and have not been able to catch up financially. We are hoping to raise rent funds for 5+ families that have been affected, for this month and previous months rent that may have been missed. Any extra funds will be used to support additional mutual aid efforts like legal fees, grocery support, medical expenses, etc.

<div><strong>What will funds be used for?</strong>
</div>
<div>Funds are meant to be used to cover living expenses for those in need in the East Bank neighborhoods. This can include rent or mortgage payments, utilities, groceries, medical bills, legal bills and everyday necessities. Receipts and proof of dispersal of funds can be requested once payments have been made or funds are sent directly to families. Again, for the sake of safety and privacy, names and identifying information will be omitted.

<div><strong>How will families receive funds?</strong>

<div>Those in need can submit a request through our campaign's contact form or connect with community members in the East Bank neighborhoods. A community member will reach out and connect with applicants about their needs. Once the request is approved, funds will be withdrawn to a community member's bank account. Applicants can choose to receive funds in cash (delivered by the community member) or through some electronic transfer methods.
