Hurricane Maria Relief

Hello, my name is Earl Parson.
This feels very awkward for me as I have always considered myself the one to be helping others but now find myself in a situation where I am forced to ask for help for myself and my family.
I live in the United States Virgin Islands. Recently, our island of St Croix was ravaged by Hurricane Maria.
My partner, Le Achenbach and I  spent the night of Maria barricaded in the laundry room with the washer/dryer holding the door shut as we listened to our home being torn apart above us.
We lost both our house and our condo to the storm.
Not only was the condo a now lost source of vacation rental income but we must also now refund almost  a year of bookings to guests that cannot stay there now.
We applied for FEMA assistance but were denied...
Things are so confusing right now that I do not even know how much we need.....our only goal right now is to keep a roof over our head and food on the table.
People have been asking.. how they can help ?....what can they send? I have not been able to answer that as I do know of anything I need that could be sent and that it would actually get to us....All I can think of is money in the bank to pay bills and buy food...
I don't want to ask for alot...I hate to ask for anything..but if a lot of people could give what they can, even a little but...I would feel that I had not been a burden to anyone....Please give what you feel comfortable with and no more...we are deeply grateful for anything......

Funds destination: our family ( personal needs)
Purpose: Paying bills and provide basic needs such as food and housing for our family as we are in Real Estate/Vacation Rentals and have no income at the moment.
Disbursement: Go Fund Me will disburse to our bank account where we can withdraw from the ATM on the island to buy food and pay bills.
