Help us grow our family

When Erin and I met in 2009, it was evident to me that she was someone I shouldn't let slip away. Our time spent together over the years has continued to prove to me that the love we have is something to cherish. We got married in the fall of 2013 and realized that our path to growing our family wasn't going to be easy or conventional. After multiple failed attempts, financially we could not afford to keep trying. The mental and emotional toll it took on us personally and as a couple was a lot to bear at the time.

We decided to put a hold on our dream of becoming parents, and focus on ourselves and healing. Early in 2017, Erin and I have not lost the desire to have a child. We persued fertility testing and diagnostic procedures through an OB/GYN and fertility specialists. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover much beyond blood tests for hormones and ultrasounds to determine any physical issues.

So here we are, faced with a gut check of the mounting financial costs of starting a family, all of which from here on, is out of pocket. As a same sex couple, our search for a donor is not cheap. Through cryobanks, the fees per vial can run as much as 900 dollars, not to mention shipping costs and fees. Add on to that, the costs of the procedure, medication, and further ultrasounds and blood work. In total, each try will cost upwards of $4,000.00.

We have worked hard to be where we are in life, but are not in a position to go further in debt to help create our family. So we are asking on the kindness of family, friends, and strangers who may be sympathetic to our situation, in order to move forward.
