ESADE runs for Street Child

Donation protected
Hola a todos!
In the coming months, we, a group of ESADE students will be running in the Barcelona Marathon (March 11th) and / or the Barcelona Half Marathon (February 11th) to raise money for Street Child (https://www.street-child.es ),  an organisation working towards improving education and child safety in some of the most impoverished regions in the world, and we would really appreciate any donations you could make towards this great cause.

Every child deserves the right to safety and to be empowered through education. Street Child works in some of the poorest areas in the world and strive to ensure that every child has the chance to go to school and learn. They work with local partners to provide sustainable solutions that have the maximum impact. Within this, they have four main focus areas of protecting children , educating children, empowering families and supporting children in emergencies.
Street Child help children get off the streets, away from danger and into school. They work tirelessly finding safe, family environments for these children, helping them get back to school and through their livelihood support teams, ensure the family has the financial strength to keep the child in school. They are dedicated to improving sustainable education systems by building schools, improving the standard of education, training teachers and working within the community to advocate for the right to education for all children. Furthermore, their work has been done in nations devastated by natural disasters or war, where up to a third of the world’s out of school children live. For example, they supported over 12,000 children impacted by the Ebola virus in Sierra Leone, and launched in Nepal after the devastating 2015 earthquake to help rebuild schools in the communities worst-affected by the earthquake.
Street Child strives to ensure that no child is forgotten and has access to the learning opportunities that they deserve. Since 2008, they have helped over 100,000 children to go to school and learn and supported over 15,000 families to set up businesses so they can afford the cost of educating their children long-term.

The money raised by this campaign will be spent on Street Child’s  «Right to Learn » campaign in Sierra Leone, a project providing education to some of the most vulnerable children in the country (and in the world).

Every donation counts! With:
<20 euros: Street Child provides emergency assistance to a family that struggles to care for their children
35 euros: Street Child is able to send a child to school for a year
70 euros: SC helps a family to start a business in the city, giving them the opportunity to sustain themselves in the long term
270 euros: SC pays the salary of a teacher for one year, providing education for a whole community
1200 euros: SC renovates a school in a remote area, we furnish it and we provide educational materials
2500 euros: SC provides income generating possibilites for rural communities so that they can finance the school activities themselves in the long term

This organisation is doing truly brilliant work, and we would really appreciate any donation you can make (small or large) to help spur us on in these final few weeks of training.
Thank you!
