In Memory of Marcus Moore, ERHS

Dear ERHS/PGCPS parents, alumni and friends,

This fund was set up in memory of Marcus Moore (44), a beloved building engineer at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, MD. Mr. Moore died tragically in a car accident on Friday, November 3, 2017 while taking his youngest son home from a practice. The ERHS family is devastated over the loss and grief counselors have been on site at the school for those in need.

Mr. Moore worked for the Prince George's County for more than 25 years, the last 5 of which had been at ERHS.  He was loved by both students and faculty.  Students nicknamed him "Janitor Drake" because of his resemblance to the musician. 

Per a recent school newsletter, "Marcus Moore fully embodied the Roosevelt Way of Kindness, Respect, Responsibility, and Integrity. In the five years in which he worked here Marcus, affectionately known as Mo Mo & Drake, touched everyone’s lives from the students to the staff to the various groups who rented the building. Marcus was always available with a smile on his face and making every task easier."

Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Naudia, and their three sons, ranging in age from 5 to 18 years old. The funds raised from this campaign will go to the family, as a small gesture of support during this painful time.  If we exceed the goal, a small portion may be used towards a memorial at ERHS so that the students and staff can continue to honor his memory.
