EMS band 2017-2018

In the 2016-17 school year, we spent money fixing instruments, buying music, and going to Band Festival.  A lot of it was covered with past fund-raising and grant money, but this year we are starting the year with $0.  

I'm asking we try to raise the money to keep things going without doing a sale.  Although I love cheesecake (I've sold cheesecake for many years) I think we might appreciate not having to sell more stuff.

Here is the breakdown of our needs:
$2000 instrument repair
$2000 band festival (8th grade)
$1000 music purchase

Something else, I'd like to comission the EMU resident composer, Dr. Whitney Prince, to compose a piece of music for East Middle.  This summer, he showed interest in writing for us, and I think it's a tremendous opportunity.  His comission is about $2000.  

We have 271 kids in band this year, and I'm trying to raise $7000.  If you can, please donate what you can to help with our expenses.  If EVERYONE in band gives $26, that will cover this year.  From experience, a little less than half of my population participates in fund-raisers, so if you can donate more, please do.
