EFNS - The Food Project
Cooking for people and sharing food together is one of the ways we can show solidarity and care for each other.
Over at East Finchley Neighbourhood Support- The Food Project, we know how important food is in creating communities where people support one another. So, we want to help our neighbours and friends by cooking and giving out healthy, hearty meals for those who need an extra hand at the moment.
Our approach
We want our food to be nutritious and tasty.
We want the families we help to be a part of this, shaping the menus in real-time and telling us what they like and how we can improve.
We want to be green and sustainable, reducing waste and avoiding single-use plastics. Eventually, our goal is to only use bicycles, electric scooters, or electric cars for all deliveries.
We will put safety at the top of our list, ensuring that we’re preparing food safely and keeping the names and addresses of everyone we help confidential and secure.
Who we are
We are a group of local residents who want to help our community, led by Giuseppe Sollo – a local chef who was inspired by Marcus Rashford’s bold campaign for free school meals and his commitment to ending child food poverty.
Eventually, we want to become our own charity. But, in the meantime, East Finchley Neighbourhood Support have teamed up with Grange Big Local and CommUNITY Barnet to host this new local initiative, East Finchley Neighbourhood Support - The Food Project.
As a registered charity, CommUNITY Barnet will be in charge of all financial controls and processes, so you can be sure that your money will be dealt with safely and properly, and go where it is needed.
This donation page has been set up to raise funds to pay for:
- Ingredients
- Packaging
- Transport costs
We want to be absolutely transparent with how the funds that we raise are being spent, so will update the list above as necessary!
Thank you :)
