EEG Supports Disaster Relief

Donation protected
EEG is honoring World Food Day on October 16, 2017 by giving back where food is needed the most. EEG will contribute the first $1000, in our goal to raise $5000. Any contributions that you can provide are greatly appreciated and no amount is too small. All funds that we receive by Friday, October 20, 2017, will be split equally between 3 charities - one in Texas and one in Puerto Rico for hurricane victims, and to The North Bay Fire Relief Fund for victims of recent  and ongoing fires in Northern California.

The devastating North Bay fires continue to burn and cause massive devastation. Brave first responders from across the state are battling these blazes and are coordinating local, state and federal resources to respond. Thousands have lost their homes and our neighbors need our help, now. Senator Mike McGuire has  partnered with the incredible team at Redwood Credit Union and The Press Democrat to establish the North Bay Fire Relief Fund. 100% of all donations will benefit the relief efforts and the victims of these terrible fires.

In Puerto Rico, the nonprofit organization Convoy of Hope has helped more than 80 million people throughout the world by sharing food, water, emergency supplies, agricultural know-how, and opportunities that empower people to live independent lives, free from poverty, disease and hunger. Convoy of Hope does this through: Mobilizing tens of thousands of volunteers each year, partnering with businesses, individuals and other humanitarian organizations that are intent on doing good work among the impoverished and suffering. They are currently on the ground in Puerto Rico providing food, supplies, and any resources that they are able to offer.

In Texas, the Coastal Bend Food Bank (CBFB) is a nonprofit organization and is assisting people in the area that were affected by Hurricane Harvey. They have opened their pantry to the community to help those in need. The CBFB services an 11-county area of South Texas and 150 agencies or pantries operate. The CBFB feeds 7,800 people each week — that’s 28,700 people per month and 78,900 people per year. They reach the community by conducting 25 mobile pantry drops each week, holding 7 Kids’ Cafés each week and distributing 1,000 backpacks full of food each Friday so kids do not go hungry over the weekend.
