Dying Cancer Patient Dawn and Her Kids Trip

We have a precious friend, Dawn Berry, that has been fighting a very aggressive head and neck cancer with a focus on a tumor that started on her tongue. It all started in April of 2020 with a biopsy in May of 2020 and she received her diagnosis in the middle of May. Her surgery was in June of 2020 to remove and reconstruct over half of her tongue from her forearm. Radiation followed that and then in Dec. of 2020 more biopsies were done and on Dec. 23rd-she found out the cancer had returned. She has endured unbearable pain and chemo after chemo treatment plus radiation fighting this horrible disease. The doctors have just done new scans and have determined that the cancer is so aggressive that she has about a year to live at best. They are starting her on a new round of heavy chemo in hopes of buying her more time within the year prediction. She has two beautiful, young children that will be losing their momma. She has just moved back home with her parents so they can help her, Peyton and Skylar. Mid- July she wants to take them on a vacation so that they have one last great time with their momma before she gets to where she is housebound. Dawn has fought this hard and has even worked as she was able to during this journey. I can’t imagine the physical pain that she is enduring because of the head and neck cancer and the emotional pain of knowing she is leaving behind two precious “littles” without a momma.
