Dyer, IN FD/Antique Truck Restoration

Donation protected
The Dyer Fire Department is looking for the communities support to restore a piece of Dyer history.  Our 1939 Seagraves fire engine was a first line apparatus until the early 1970's when it was officially removed from active service.

During it`s early years of service it pumped water from flooded roads and even pulled the water line on US 30 under the railroad tracks.  In the past, we have also used this engine for parades, funerals and public relation events.  However, over the years, time has taken its toll and we need your assistance to bring this piece of history back to life.  We are very proud of our old engine and want to keep it road worthy so it can be enjoyed by generations to come.

The departments budget is used for repairs and to maintain our active first line response vehicles and equipment, that are currently in service.  Therefore, there is no funding left for repairs to the antique.

Our goal is to raise $30,000.00 for these much needed repairs.  This is were we need your support and the support of others. Many of the parts needed are not available and will need to be fabricated or machined, especially for the brakes.

In order to achieve our goal of $30,000.00 we have created a GoFundMe fundraiser.  With your support we are hopeful we will achieve this goal and bring this truly important piece of history back into service, where it belongs.
