Major Moogy Sumner AM, Ngarrindjeri elder and songman and leader of the Tal-Kin-Jeri dance group is hosting the Dupang cultural festival in February at Long Point in the beautiful Coorong his traditional country.
This is the beginning of a long held dream by Uncle Moogy to develop a sustainable festival for future generations and to share Ngarrindjeri culture and invite national and international Indigenous dance groups to share their culture with all non-Indigenous and Indigenous peoples.
The event is to be held in February so we don't have a lot of time to raise additional funds for:
Water Tanks 2 x 5000 litres @ $699 and 1 x 1000litre @$200
Water for the water tanks @ $800 will cover the water and delivery (we are in a remote location)
Toilet and Shower Hire $3,755
Bus Hire x 2 $ 3,500 and diesal to allow those that don't have transport such as tourists and other Adelaide locals to take part.
Ute Hire x 2 for 10 days $1080 andFuel $450
The festival has been successful in securing some funding and is supported by the Adelaide Fringe Festival and Arts SA, Ku Arts and Country Arts SA to assist us with festival staff fees, dance group travel, accommodation, meals and fees and marketing the event press ads.
However we need additional support from those people who want to help Uncle Moogy realise his dream for future generations. We hope you will come on board to create a leading Aboriginal Festival in the beautiful Coorong South Australia.
All donations will recieve a special thank you on the Tal-Kin-Jeri website and social media.
For your donation of $50 you will receive an inaugural Dupang Festival T-shirt.
For your donation of $100 you will recieve two t-shirts and a 10% discount on tickets.
For your donation over $150 you will recieve two t-shirts, 20% discount on tickets and priority onsite booking for workshops.
For donations above $1000 you will be offered the opportunity to participate in a private cultural session with Uncle Moogy Sumner.
