Drumshanbo AC takes on DCM 2018

Hi  everyone, A group of runners from Drumshanbo Athletic Club are taking on Dublin City Marathon 2018 this October Bank Holiday!

Why you might ask?
Well, to be honest I am sure a lot of us have asked ourselves that exact same question..... more than once!

Its a sad fact of life but almost everyone of us have been affected in some way, shape or form by cancer. Whether its a family member or friend, each of us knows someone who's life has been impacted by it.

We all have our own reasons for signing up to the challenge however we all agree that there are two important charities we'd like to support and help along the way.

The Irish Cancer Society & SHOUT (Sligo Hospital Oncology Unit Trust) are the two charities we have decided to support with our sponsorship efforts. The donations to both charities will go towards their hard work and commitment to supporting real people in the times they need it most.

All of us have decided that whilst we're going to probably endure some pain, blisters, cramps and goodness knows what else along the 26-mile course ,there is something we can do to help others by supporting two charities that offer huge and invaluable support to cancer patients and their families.
