Hello everyone! I am excited to share with you all a great service experience that I will be taking part of this upcoming winter! In January, I will be traveling with 19 other missionaries from Connecticut to a small mountain village in Haiti, which is the poorest country in the western hemisphere, to contribute directly to the building of badly needed facilities for the orphans and villagers. In addition, I will be treating orphans and villagers in need with my physical therapy skills that I have learned in school so far! I am currently finishing my final year in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Quinnipiac University, and I am looking forward to this trip as a wonderful opportunity to expand my knowledge and cultural experience as a future health care professional!
I have a strong passion to serve and help others. Service is not about making myself feel good, it is about seeing the smiles, warm spirits, and strong hearts of those that I am serving. Through serving others you give yourself up to walk along side someone through their struggles and hardships. I am confident that this awesome experience will exceed my expectations about what service truly means to me. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity in which I will be able to use my faith in God and knowledge as a PT student in order to serve others to the best of my ability.
I am reaching out to you all to help me fundraise for this trip. As a 6th year grad student, my personal funds are on the lower side (very low haha). Most of the money that I raise through this web page will be donated directly to the villagers in Haiti, and the remaining money will be used for food, building supplies, and airfare.
