Our dear friend, Andrew Gadbois, has been diagnosed with a staph infection recently and has been out of work since the 14th of February dealing with the pain and sickness. In the last week, he has been in the hospital under constant supervision, medicinal regimens, thorough testing and a barrage of nurses, doctors, and visitors. Drew's staph infection is very serious and has taken a heavy toll on the body. Although likely starting as a skin infection, the infection became widespread and has included some of his vital organs.
After his stint in the hospital is finished he'll hopefully be headed home to continue his antibiotic regimen via an IV that will be hooked up to him for the next 6 WEEKS. He is very weak physically at this point and isn't expected to be back at his normal energy capacity until 2 or 3 weeks into his home IV regimen. He has a lot of support medically from dear friends and people that love him so everything in that regard will be taken care of.
However, he'll continue to be absent from work and after he finally returns, it will have been about 2 and half months (10 weeks) total of not getting a paycheck. Besides his medical bills for this ordeal, he has the normal cost of living bills that need to be taken care of and unlike the invoice from the hospital, those bills can't wait. Drew does not receive receive short-term disability as a part of his benefits and because he started his position only recently, he doesn't qualify for FMLA.
In total, two months of bills for Drew add up to around $3000. We are looking to his friends, loved ones, coworkers, community, acquaintances, bitter enemies, preachers, and chiropractors for donations. The infection and pain are stressful enough to deal with. We can help alleviate the additional stress of being out of work for 10 weeks.

Whatever you can do to help is appreciated; every little bit adds up to help Drew get through the rest of this ordeal financially. $100 can help him pay rent, $10 dollars will help keep the lights on, $25 will help pay for his car payment and insurance. We want to make sure Drew doesn't have to worry about anything else besides feeling better.
Thank you all for your consideration, donations, and thoughts. This page will continue to be updated with his progress and the running total of the donations accumulated so far. Take care of yourselves and each other.
