Donation protected
Update: Thanks to all the Donors. Due to your support Shahnaaz Khan has secured admission and is organising logistics. All the funds raised has been sent to her on 20th July.

I am raising funds for Shahnaaz Khan a young researcher, teacher, TEDx speaker and two times gold medalist who has a dream to change this world by her passion for research and education to stop hate and identity based crimes and aspire for a better future for communities around the world. Every year many lives are lost due to hatred, hate crimes, identity based violence, lynching, racism and social injustice. We all can lift her up to achieve her potential so that she can become an ambassador and symbol of hope for the under privileged and deprived sections of the society.

She has received a conditional offer to study MPhil in Education (Knowledge, Power and Politics), from University of Cambridge, England in early 2021 and need financial support to pursue her dream to complete research work and become a strong voice to stop hate crimes and violence towards minorities, underprivileged and disadvantaged sections of the society. University is not offering any scholarships this year in any MA/MPhil degree in Education and she has been asked to submit a Financial Undertaking for the total liability of the course fee i.e. £ 42,511.

Breakdown for the minimum annual estimated financial liability is provided as below:

£ 350.00 -Non UK Settling in Support
£ 12,359.00 -Student Maintenance
£ 29,802.00 -UCF Overseas/Islands

Due to her family circumstances she is unable to provide the required undertaking and can not fully finance this course on her own. She has received some assurance from her current employer that they can fund her tution fee on part loan basis.

University needs the compliance on the offer conditions (finance undertaking) by 31st July 2021 otherwise she will not be able to obtain a place in the Collage.

She has worked with international and national organizations on identity based violence in India, including on lynching and hate crimes against minorities and disadvantaged persons. This include preparing reports such as South Asia: State of Minorities Report, 2018 and 2020 (in partnership with Minority Rights Group International); and Lynching Without End, Countering the Silence (Citizens Against Hate, India), and more.

Due to her research work she was invited on TEDxGateway to speak on "Killed By Hate -How Hate Crimes Attack Identities".

Her research looks at creating inclusive classrooms by addressing identity blindness and bias in education. She has worked with schools and education not for profits towards understanding culturally congruent teaching, so no child is left behind just because of who they are. She is a role model for the importance education plays in our lives and aims to use her own qualifications to improve public policy and teaching models for underprivileged and minority students.

She has never given up to adversity and was a strong supporter to her mother during her 8 years long illness while fighting for cancer.

Can you please help to chase her dream. She has dedicated her life for this cause and is committed that the crowd funding she will receive towards her education will be returned back to students aspiring for similar dreams in world's leading institutions so that this good work can continue forever.

It is a big undertaking but I am sure your contribution, small or big will matter, and bring a change in other people's lives. I will really appreciate your support in this matter.
