Help fund my unpaid internship!

As many of you know, I'm currently in grad school pursuing a degree in public health. Part of this program requires me to do a summer internship/research project and I found an amazing opportunity to help the homeless population here in LA on skid row. There is currently a tuberculosis outbreak among homeless men in LA. This is a tragic situation; not only is TB 100% preventable, but it was nearly eradicated in Los Angeles County in the past. Current global trends have caused it to reemerge in our own back yard, when really, it should no longer be an issue in the first world. I will be spending my summer researching the source of these cases and the factors that have caused TB to spread through this population in order to help the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and other Los Angeles County aid organizations prevent the further spread of this affliction. Unfortunately this good work isn't funded. Right now, I am scrambling to locate money to love off of over the summer -- you can't pay rent with altruism. That's where you lovely people come in. I'm not asking for a lot -- just 5 dollars here, ten dollars there. All I'm asking is for you to find it in your hearts to help out a starving college student on her quest to make the world a better place!
