My Testimony from my Daughters prospective (she is a RN).
Y'all...we get to bring Dad home today! I honestly did not know if we would get to, not alive anyways. If dad's second surgery was unsuccessful, we would have taken him home to live the rest of whatever time he had left. I want you all to do some homework and look up the percentage of people who die after having a subdural hematoma. Now I want you to look up DIC and see how RARE it is, this is a post op complication that he suffered after his second surgery. That fact that my dad not only survived these things but also two emergency neurosurgeries in 7 days is nothing shy of a MIRACLE. God is not finished with my father. The next time you see my father, give him a hug, because you came very close to never seeing him again. Appreciate and love those close to you, you never know what the next day holds. Last week I was heartbroken; the fear of losing my father a very real reality. Today I am driving him home! AMEN!

Two weeks ago we were informed that my dad was going to need a second neurological surgery in a span of 7 days. It was at this point I really thought that I was going to lose my best friend. Somehow, he made it through the surgery and responded extremely well with all of the clotting medications they gave him, after having some initial troubles with the post op condition known as D.I.C. The survival rate with the type of severe bleed that he went in for is 20 percent, and the majority of those will have little or no brain function at all afterwards. The survival rate of someone suffering from D.I.C is slim to none. All of this combined at once made it seem like he was fighting a losing battle; but he kept fighting. The doctors and nurses upon his release basically determined that he is a medical miracle. He even sat down and interviewed with 3 student nurses during his stay, and had long conversations with them about his stay and what he had taken from it and what he thinks they could do as students that would prepare them after they graduate. He also gave these doctors some much needed information on how effective certain meds can be and how they can affect different types of rare cases such as his. I think he was put in this position for a reason, and hopefully the medical staff that operated and took care of him can take something away from all of this. If I have taken anything away from this man, during this situation. It is to remain faithful in GOD, continue to fight despite the odds, and stay strong for your family because they are always watching. We are so glad to have you back pops. We love you!
Those who know my dad, know how unselfish he is and how he was always the first to help anybody in any situation. It is time for us to help him. While raising a family and having a more than successful marriage of 33 years, he also contributed to the youth sports organizations in town in every sport. He coached and refereed soccer, baseball, basketball, football and volleyball. He has probably at some point been involved directly in everybodys life that is reading this. We ask that everybody try to keep sharing his testimony, and help raise donations for a man that truly deserves it.
All money raised during this campaign will be used for Medical Expenses.
Even with insurance, medical bills can be a financial burden, medical expenses that aren’t covered, doctor’s bills and insurance co-pays to travel costs and possible lost wages.
Even a $5 donation gets us closer to our goal. I understand that everyone has financial limitations, so if you are not in a position to make a donation.
