Donna's Cancer-Butt-Kickin' Fund

My mom found a lump in her breast in July 2014 and went to have a mammogram and further testing which revealed that it was, in fact, breast cancer. Since then, she has had biopsies done of the lymph nodes under her arm and they tested positive. The size of the mass in her breast and the cancerous lymph nodes indicate that she is in stage II of the terrible illness. On September 24th, she received her first cycle of Chemo. She felt pretty good until she was given the shot (Neulasta - used to stimulate the growth of healthy white blood cells) on the 26th. She will go back for the second cycle of chemo on October 8th and every other week for two months. After that, she will begin the next round of medication through Chemotherapy weekly for 12 weeks. Then, she will get a break for her body to heal and strengthen to prepare for surgery to remove the mass and lymph nodes from under her arm. When she heals from surgery, she will begin receiving radiation treatments daily (Monday-Friday) for 4 weeks. She will then be finished with the long process and we are excited for her to be CANCER FREE! Six months later, she will have reconstructive surgery. Throughout all of these events, there will be many days she will have (and already has had) to miss work. There are so many medical bills that comes with all the testing and treatments and I, along with the rest of our family, would like to help take off as much of the financial burden as possible.  This woman is so strong and has the biggest heart! She puts others before herself and would give the shirt off her back to anyone!
