SHOCKING DIAGNOSIS: Battling Stage Four Cancer at 28 years

In April of this year our oldest sister Jackie was diagnosed with stage two cancer in her gallbladder after going to the ER for severe chest pains. This is a very rare cancer especially for someone in their twenties. When the surgeons went in to remove her gallbladder they were shocked to find stage four cancer in her liver, stomach, colon, pancreas, and cancer in her lymph nodes.

The oncologists told our 28 year old sister her life was now measured in months, with or without chemotherapy.

Jackie took the news bravely with the support of her parents, daughter, Sariah (5), boyfriend Tony, family, and friends.

BATTLE OF INSURANCE
While Jackie continues to fight the Battle of Cancer on one front there is a matter of insurance on the other.

Long story short: Jackie had insurance coverage during the time she had her surgeries and chemotherapy but the insurance company retroactively DENIED her coverage for all medical services ($90,000's worth) including all those that had anything to do with her cancer diagnosis and treatment.

At this point the hospital has suspended her chemotherapy treatments until we come up with an alternative plan. (We will update the exact amount soon but her chemotherapy is estimated to be at least $20,000 per month)

Today (June 05, 2013) we found out Jackie does NOT qualify for Medicaid or SSI although she is not currently working.

BREAKING THE CHAINS OF CANCER
We are a family of believers in God and in the power of the name of Jesus, the only One who can heal her cancer. When we received Jackie's cancer diagnosis we prayed. We all reached out to friends, loved ones and family all over the country to pray.

Within two weeks Jackie had a very detailed PET Scan that would show the doctors where else the cancer may have spread. And what did they find?

No cancer in the stomach.
No cancer in the liver.
No cancer in the colon.

The only explanation is that God heard our prayers and answered. Our God is truly a God of miracles and we praise His name for the miraculous work in her life!!

The Doctors DID find cancer remained in her pancreas, where they could not remove it. Jackie must still go forward with chemotherapy and began treatment a few weeks ago.

We can't fight our sisters cancer for her but we can and did pray! We can't pay our sister's medical bills but we can reach out to the community to fundraise for her medical bills and chemotherapy treatments. You can help too! :)

WHO IS JACQUELINE NEWSOM
Jackie is 28 years old and proud mother to Sariah, her loving, five-year old daughter. Sariah prays each night that Jesus heals her Mommy, and thanks God for her Mommy's angel that watches over her.

Jackie is the eldest daughter of Tommy and Theresa Newsom who are very proud of their daughter and would lay down their lives for her.

(April 2013; Jackie with parents Tommy and Theresa a few days after learning of diagnosis)

Jackie is the oldest sibling to Stephanie Curry, her twin sister, and Tommy Newsom II, her younger brother. We both love our sister with all our hearts and can't imagine a life without her.

PLEASE HELP!
We, Stephanie and Tommy, are reaching out to family, friends, and any who are moved with hearts of compassion to give to aid to Jackie with her enormous medical expenses.

Our parents are doing and have done everything in their power to make sure my sister has the treatment she needs. Our parents have already given so much of themselves and their finances and the cost of my sisters mounting medical expenses and necessary chemotherapy are too much for them alone.

In fact, none of us alone are in a position to take care of Jackie's past and future expenses on our own.

***We (Tommy Newsom and Stephanie Curry) humbly ask for those who can to give what they can and we know God will multiply it and it will go farther than we could ask or imagine. Every penny raised (minus the 5% fee the website charges for each donation) will go towards Jackie's medical treatment and expenses. If you're able please give today!! You MAY ALSO GO TO WELLS FARGO BANK and donate to "Breaking the Chains of Cancer Donation Fund". You may make checks payable to "Breaking the Chains of Cancer Donation Fund" and email us for the address. Also please continue to pray for her complete healing and medical bills and future treatments to be covered! Our immediate hope and prayer is that Jackie can start her chemotherapy treatment again as soon as possible.***

We cannot thank you all enough and trust it will be returned to you so much more! :)

Thank You,

Stephanie (Newsom) Curry and Tommy Newsom II
