Donations for Baby Austin

A few months ago we found out we were having a baby boy and we were so excited! We have a five year old little girl and she was also hoping for a little brother. About 20 weeks into my pregnancy we received heartbreaking news that his little heart was not functioning properly. Although his heart rate is always right around 140 beats per minute, he has something called Pulmonary Stenosis. This causes arteries in the heart to narrow and puts more pressure on the rest of the heart to try to pump a sufficient amount of blood through narrowed arteries. We have been told that he could not make it through the pregnancy and if he does, the heart will require major surgery and a stay in the NICU. So far, he's doing well and fighting hard! We will not give up on him and we have faith that god is watching over us and is taking care of our little man and our family. We started out at my OBGYN in Rock Hill for routine prenatal care which is close to where we live. After a few ultrasounds they noticed the heart problem and sent me to a prenatal specialist in Charlotte, NC. I had weekly sometimes twice a week appointments there for about seven weeks. They wanted me to start seeing doctors that could better handle our situation at delivery so all of my doctors transfered my care to the Medical University of Charleston (MUSC), which is where he will have to be born. Until my due date of July 4th, We have weekly appointments in Charleston. After all of my trips to Charlotte, It is extremely hard to afford to get all the way to Charleston every week. We live almost four hours away. We are asking for any kind of help to make these trips possible and for any other medical expenses that may come. We will also have to stay in Charleston before he's born and of course afterwards for probably several months. This little guy isnt giving up, and we have to ensure that he's getting the absolute best! Any kind of donations would be life-changing for our family! We will also keep updating as time progresses through the pregnancy and the arrival of our little miracle as well as pictures! We had to set a goal of this magnitude but any donations we receive will be great! It will get us one step closer to providing the absolute best care for our little boy. Also, staying in Charleston within proximity to the Medical University is going to be extremely costly. All of my doctors want me to stay as close as possible to the hospital to be sure that I will be able to have little Austin there so there is no risk of him being born at a hospital that is not capable of taking care of him.
