Orphans of Gaza
The children of Gaza have lived through three massacres and wars at the hands of Israel in the last seven years. Unimaginable depths of terror, destruction and systemic violence have entrenched their entire existence. Bear in mind that the quarter of a million people now in the UN schools will be soon in the streets since schools will start soon. And also bear in mind that winter will be here soon.
At least 370,000 children in Gaza are in need of specialized psychiatric and psychosocial support following Israel’s latest onslaught on the besieged enclave. The catastrophic level of hatred they have witnessed and experienced this year is tragic beyond words.
Gazas children were suffering from extreme trauma prior to the start of the current war. With the current bombardment, that trauma has been renewed and made more devastating. They do not sleep. They do not eat. They cannot play. They can only cry. They lose their education. No child deserves to go through what Gazas children are going through right now.
We have a programme in place to provide basic support for the orphanages in Gaza. We are calling on anyone with a conscience and time to organise fundraisers and donate funds through to support these children. All money raised will be delivered to orphanages in Gaza, in person. They will get some basic food, clothing, continued education, play, and psychosocial therapy for trauma.
