HELP ZACK BEAT RARE RHABDOID CANCER

Donation protected

Zack was Diagnosed with Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor of the Kidney. A very rare and agressive cancer. Below is his story..
(As of April 9th, 2014- The day of his major surgery, Zack Has now undergone 8 blood transfusions, 2 platelet transfusions, Removed his right kidney, had a heart bypass surgery, His liver was scraped, His Inferior Vena cava had to have cancer and clots removed and a part of pericardium of the outer layer of his heart was grafted into his IVC. Not to mention his Sternum had to be broke to access his chest for the major surgery..)

Zack Ryan Hunter is very bright and only 4 years old. His family needs your help. After 4 days at Children's hospital of San Antonio, on Tuesday, January 7th, 2014 we found out that he was preliminarily diagnosed with stage 3 Clear Cell Sarcoma of the kidney .By the next day, his oncologist had reviewed results of the testing that day and changed the diagnosis to Stage 3 Rhabdoid (Rab-doyd) Tumor of the Kidney. It is even rarer than the previous diagnosis. Being diagnosed with this more aggressive cancer occurs in only 10 to 12 children a year in the United States. It usually occurs in young babies and even rarer in 4 year olds. They believe that his cancer has totally overtaken his right kidney, extended past that organ, and up the inferior vena cava to his aorta, and some is on the upper right chamber of his little heart. His oncologist estimates the growth has only been formed a short time: 1 to 2 weeks to a month.  We pray that it was noticed early enough. It is inoperable for now. We plan to use chemo to shrink it away from his heart and down his IVC so it can safely be removed without missing any of it.

This donation page for Zack was created the morning of Wednesday, January 8th, 2014.

Zack is a little ray of sunshine. He smiles and loved to run and play. In pre-k for 3 year olds he scored 90 on his Brigence aptitude test. He loves his kitty. And loves to sing. He is always caring and would share his toys and snacks with his siblings. This his story. I will post updates. We have 3 older children and Zack is the baby of the family. We are overwhelmed with tests, surgery and chemo. Any prayers are appreciated and welcomed. Donations will help with hospital bills, medical bills and any travel Zack's treatment requires. Thank you. Please share this page. Any donation will help us on this long road. No donation is too small. Thank you and God Bless.
